"Serenity Is Me" takes you through time and space with meditations, from Africa to India to a soft bedtime lullaby.

"Sweet Dreams" was specifically written for my daughter before she was born. It is a lullaby that we used every night to put her to sleep. This instrumental was written with the words "Sweet Dreams Katelynn... go to sleep" sung over the main melody and you can sing along if you want with your child's name used instead. Very soothing and relaxing.

"Future Self" was written also with words in mind but instead a meditation walk. Again, it is release here without words. I let the slow morphing music take me away to lands that only meditations can lead. Possibly the most relaxing piece I have written.

"Serenity Is Me" was my first stab at writing ambient music. It can be dissonant with its structure as at the time of it being written I was focusing my music writing on jazzier rock and roll. I named it after someone that I met online who is very special and helps out people with her free time. She is awesome and worth the title of this piece.

Another departure from the normal "Matthew" CD is "Mantra." The main melody is based on an Indian Raga that is repeated over and over again to create a trance like state. Once the raga melody is stated I start adding drums. Every time through the melody I add more drum until you end up with a collage of drums from Africa. The repeated figures of the drums also create a trance like state until the drums overtake the melody and 90 percent of the music is drumming. If you have ever heard a drum circle you know what this would sound like. This piece must be listened to from beginning to end to understand the full potential of it's meditation.

These ambient pieces were made to be listened to as a whole but stand on their own when played separately. I know you will enjoy the music on this ambient CD especially for massages, meditations, yoga, reiki or just relaxing at the beach.
